maybe it is a little outside the scope of this software but I love the feature in Materialize that allows the user to select surfaces and then automatically orientate the model to minimize supports on the selected surfaces.

Thanks for the feature request. This seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to implement. Especially since a majority of the option could stem from the existing "Place surface on bed tool". I've documented this feature request for our development team to review.
