Hi all,
I have the latest firmware and after bringing the bed temp down to 50C and reducing the print speed to 30mm/sec, the prints look bad in some areas using the Makerbot Desktop slicer. I was able to slow it up enough to make it look sort of decent, but I'm printing PPE for a local hospital and it's bad in a critical area that would make it less acceptable even in a crisis situation such as covid 19.

Please help. I'm spread too thin to try and develop them myself.

Simplify3D has a great default profile for this machine. You can download it by going to Help > Configuration Assistant and then select the Makerbot Replicator 2X from the drop-down menu.

I to am struggling with this. The above solution produced no results for me. There is no Replicator 2X profile in the drop down menu you mentioned. My issue is the startup code. The machine does a very strange dance of heating the bed to desired temp, then will not hold bed temp while trying to heat the extruder. It heats the extruder to the desired temp and then idles like it forgot what its doing. My understanding of G-code is so so but I have no idea how the firmware config should be setup.

Which version of the software are you using? I just checked again to be sure and there is a Makerbot Replicator 2x option available from the Configuration Assistant. Please use this and let me know if the issues continue.

Well it appears I am an idiot.
I needed to look under "M" for "Makerbot Replicator 2X" not "R" for "Replicator 2x".
Everything works now.
