Simplify3D User Forum

I've been using A Mosaic Palette 2 alongside Simply3D. It's been working well so far, but there's an optimization that could be made and for which I'm requesting:

Simplify3D appears to always order each layer as "part", then "support". When fed through Mosaic's Chroma, this generates 2 transitions per layer, and thus consumes a fair amount of material.

Instead, if the ordering was alternated each layer — part → support → layer change → support → part→ layer change — then the material use, and print speed, would be a lot less. This would also work well for 2-to-1 extruders like E3D's Chimera (which I'm about to add to my CR-10v2).

Great idea! Our dual extrusion optimizations already perform similar optimizations for printed islands. I'm sure our devs would entertain the idea of changing the entire order in which features within parts get sequenced. I've documented your request and will monitor for further user interest.
