Face Shield PPE Stack Issues

Hey Everyone!

I'm new to 3D printing so be patient with me if my question seems silly.

Here's the situation:

I have 2x Creality CR-10 v2 and 2x Creality CR-10 Mini running to create PPE Face Shields. My goal is to find a public model that is stacked so I can hit start and walk away until the next day (i'm in and out of my office and don't have much availability to swap single prints).

If found some great models and the first print in the stack is perfect. Come the second print in the stack, the layer adhesion is terrible. Based on the settings, I don't see anything that would change once moving to the second item in the stack.

I've tried many different slicers (Creality Slicer, Cura, and now Simplify3D) and I've also tested this on 4 different printers. Same results.

Speed, temp, layer height, and wall thickness have all been adjusted with no significant improvement.

Does anyone have any suggestions or have a stacked model and Process Settings that they'd share for comparison?

When stacking these face shields it is going to be important to have a fairly small gap between the parts. I would recommend using .14mm or so. This usually is enough that they can be separated but not so much that the part will not stick.

It is also helpful with curvy parts to slow the speed of the first layer or two for each mask. You can use the Variable Settings Wizard if you want to selectively slow only these layers. We have a great write up on that tool so I included a link below:

I too have the same problem and so would be very gratefull if you or anyone finds a solution. Note I am using PETG.

The top layer of each stacked mask is good with the support easy to remove . The 1st layer does not bond to the second layer even though the support material breaks away fairly easy.

I will try Alex's suggestion on reducing part separation and first layer settings using the Variable settings Wizard.
