Hi,

First of all, I have to precise that I am completely new to Simplify3D, that I bought one hour ago. I have used Cura for one day, and wanted a software that gives me more control. So maybe I am missing something obvious.

I have loaded a model, and changed the settings for the supports, as I wanted square pillars instead of walls. This appears exactly as I want it on the model view, but when I click on "Prepare to print", the preview shows completely different supports, I have now walls. I have attached images of the 2 views.

I did not try to print it yet, but I guess I will get what is in the preview. Any idea why it is like this?

This is how Supports in Simplify3D work. The pillars are only used to tell the software where it should put Support structures. You can change the shape, size and density of these supports in the Support tab of the Process Settings. I have included a couple links below to some resources we have that cover our Support tool.

Thank you for your reply, it is very clear now. I am still discovering the software and its possibilities, but my first results are promising!
