Resume print after failed thermistor

G'day all,

I have a 27hour print and 3/4 of a spool of ABS that had a failed thermistor about 90% though the print, looks like the failure happened right near the end of a layer, so printer was merrily printing nothing when I came home today, arghhh!

so question is how do can I recover this?

I've had to power off to reset firmware after replacing the thermistor so I can't zero Z Axis due to the print on the print bed.

I have worked out what layer I need to print next, if I zero my Z Axis at the top of the print, how can I offset the part I ned to print so that it's layer is = 0 on the Z-Axis?

Regards,

Stephen...

Re: Resume print after failed thermistor

worked it out....

just -ve offset my model by the amount it's currently printed on the Z-Axis before slicing.

this then only slices the top I need

Re: Resume print after failed thermistor

I was going to suggest in your slicer to have it start printing at layer x = next unprinted layer.
