Hello,

whatever I set in the software I can not get the additional filament fan to spin.
I use a CTC 3d Printer that is a makerbot dual clone.

when i set the fan my hand it runs and than stops it seams that the software tells it to, this does nto happen when printing with makerbot desktop.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the heatsink fans or a cooling fan for the print. If so did your printer come with one fitted from the manufacture. I ask because not all clones have active cooling. My wanhao did not have one and I had to retro fit it and the components for software control.

I'm talking about the cooling fan for the print.
I pupulated the missing MOSFET on the mighty board and added the fan using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:295317
I can start the fan from the menu on the printer, its called Filament Fan.

And it seams that when printing after the fan was switched on by hand sometimes the software turns it back off again.
With makerware that does not happen, if its on it stays on.

No Mather what I set in s3d i cant make the fan to be turned on from there.

I have a Wanhao Duplicator 4 and did the same as you. S3D also did the same for me as it does for you. What I was told is that the fan control works on LAYERS not lines, I switched the view from Line to layer and watched the virtual print to where I want the fan ON, exit Preview Mode, Edit Process Settings, Cooling, and enter layer with 100 as fan speed. And it works as expected, if you using lines the fan will never come on as you will be telling it to come on well after the print has finished.
