anycubic megai3s first layer very slow

hello all,
after purchasing Simplify3d, my anycubic i3mega S now prints super SLOW on the first layer. its crawling, the print speed says 100%
it didnt do this when using Matter Control, from Matter Hackers.(which has stopped working, mysteriously)
does anyone know what causes this slow speed ? is it in the g-code ? or is there a setting somewhere ive missed ?
