Brim not round/odd computergenerated shape

Pictures kinda say it all. The setup is
25 model/process sequential print
0mm offset (brim not skirt)
20 outlines
3 layers

Needed the large base and extra layers to ensure sticktion and support. Normally I just use 8 outlines and 1 layer if needed.
It doesn't affect this particular print run (though the bigger spikes bring the head closer to printed model collision than it should) but curious as to why/how this is happening.

Anyone else seen this?
