I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I'm just doing wrong. I didn't have this issue before the last upgrade though. I have some models that don't need a lot of support that the automatic support generates so instead I define manual supports. But when I go to slice it I get a lot more supports added then what I manually put in. Any idea how to fix this?
Where you have parts made up of two or more meshes, if you only add manual supports to one of the meshes, then the auto-generation routine will still create supports for the meshes where you have no manual supports defined.
The way I get round this is to set the support pillar resolution in your profile to 99. Then generate your manual supports...but first set he pillar resolution in the manual support window to the size you want. Then, when the slicer tries to auto-generate supports for the parts that have no manual supports, it will want to use a pillar resolution of 99....and no supports will be created.
