Always getting offsets in me Leapfrog Creatr Prints

I don't know why, this seems to be a new phenomenon, but now I always get layer offsets in my Creatr prints.

I don't know if this has to do with Simplify3D or the machine, but for some reason the offsets always happen in the same layers.

Someone on the Leapfrog forums suggested I turn off "allow zeroing of extrusion distances" in the printing setting gcode section, and this seems to have mitigated the problem somewhat but I'm still getting too many offsets in different prints. This completely ruins otherwise perfect prints because if misaligns whole layers.

Initially I thought it was an x-axis belt problem but I've re tensioned it already.

Any help?

I don't have a Creatr, so I'm not sure what the most common causes for this might be.

So what I'm going to say is generic advice, and applies pretty much to all types of CNC style machines.

If it shifts and stays shifted, then I'd guess that you're missing steps. Which could be caused by binding somewhere, or could be caused by needing to up the current slightly in a stepper driver.

If the shifts misalign and then return, I'd suspect something like a loose setscrew on your X/Y stepper. This would allow say a stepper shaft to turn sligthly and the pully attached to it doesn't, until it hits the set screw. Sometimes you might not even be able to move the pulley/gear by hand, but when under load it can slip.
There are lots of other mechanical things, but those seem the most likely. Belts being too loose, or slop anywhere will cause shifts.
