I know that Creator can estimate the time of the print job if it is sending it to the printer via a computer connection, but that doesn't always work for longer prints...
What about an estimation when previewing the print job...An estimation of how long the printer itself may take to do it from the SD card?
I realize the software is out of the loop at that point, but I assume there still might be a way to estimate it....realizing it is only an estimation and not an exact amount...

I believe I read on here (Cant find it right now) that creator doesnt take in to account any lag that may exist in transfering the file via USB.
So to answer your question the time it estimates is probably closer to the time you should expect when running from a SD card.
You will still pick up accuracy issues in the calculated time as the software cant compinsate for any settings in the printer that effect the final build time.
Like ACC\DEC or Max feed overides. The longer the program the more of these that come in to play.
Example . You have a part layer that it takes 1 minute to print and it calculates it at 62 seconds. Pretty Close.
but now when you print 400 layers that becomes 800 seconds Now it is off A bit over 13 minutes.

So how do you see the estimated time in the tool? I thought I only saw it in the bottom toolbar when printing from Creator....Is there another way?

I believe I misunderstood what you were asking for. You want to see the time in Creator when you print from the SD CARD .
At the end of the gcode file there is a time estimate and a material usage estimate.
Look at it before you start and use a stopwatch. Sorry Its the best answer I have.

Time estimations are shown in the main preview window as of version 2.0
