No warning when skirt/brim is outside printing bed—am I missing something?

I loaded 8 models into the S3D which was just about what I could squeeze in on the printing bed. When I clicked prepare for print I noticed that the skirt/brim was outside the printing bed. No warning about that. I know that FlashPrint in such cases automatically shortens the brim so it ends at the edge of the printing bed, and I was hoping it was the same with S3D, but just not shown in the print preview. However, after loading the exported file onto the printer (FlashForge Adventurer 3) the g-code did indeed try to send the printer head outside the printing bed with a nasty sound. Luckily I was watching since I noticed this in the print preview and was able to abort immediately, but had I started the print and then left as I usually do I don't know what would have happened.

Am I missing something, or is a $150 software really not warning you before it tries to print outside the printing bed?
