hi, thank you,
i have the model in .stl format, from my tinkercad.
but i want to print the bottom half, about 2/3 of the way up in pla, then ,, i was planning on pausing, changing the filament, and putting in the tpu to print the rest of the way, but obv it needs to be slower, changedretraction, different temps, etc.. you know tpu settings.

so, how would i split the model in tinkercad in half, just slice in a 'hole' panel, and save each half as a different model?

or would i somehow use a dual extrusion profile i have for my printer, in s3d, and then do it how?

I've never had a multiple nozzle machine, so I've no experience to pass on.....but the basics are described in this article.

One material in one extruder, the other material in the other.....and print with two extruders.

What's your experience level? I'm new at this, but it looks like you'll want to use one process for the first section and another process for the second section. Since you're talking about changing filament, I'm assuming you don't actually have multiple print heads.

To handle the material switch between processes, it looks like you will need to add some G Code. I haven't done that yet, but here are some links:

No need to make multiple models. You only need that if you're printing two materials concurrently, i.e. on the same layer.
