Using the Variable Settings Wizard to section out a print

I'm hoping the Variable Settings wizard can help me here.
I have an object I want to print that's 30 mm tall. But. I only want to print the top 20mm.
If I split the object at the 1cm mark, how do I:
1) reset the Z height to base print level
2) Print a base layer
3) Start printing at the 20mm mark at the base layer height.

TIA!

Re: Using the Variable Settings Wizard to section out a print

if you double click the object a window opens on the right with a bunch of position adjustments. If only want to print the top 20mm, change the Z offset number (total height of the object) to 20 and it will sink the part into the bed with just the top 20 mm sticking out to be printed.

The variable wizard is more to make multiple processes for different heights. For instance, if you have a large item that can be printed with low infill very fast, but it then has a narrow pillar on top that you want to print at high infill and slower, you can split the process using the wizard and have different settings during a single print job.
