Overheating BIG TIME !

I have just encounterd a large problem , and never had this happen before . I set the hot end to 230 and all was good , then all of a sudden it keeps on going up and up like 360 degrees !! The thermistor shows me what happening , but cant tell me why ! Swapped thermistor just incase , same thing again . And then it says DEF , I press reset and it goes up and up and I shut it down Any body got a clue whats happening ?

Sounds like a control board problem to me. What kind of machine?

German REpRap Protos V3 , but with updates all over ! Board is Ramps 1.4 and I think your right , its the board as one of the lights on the board thats part of the heating system is not blinking ,meaning Im fried !! Oh well easy fix , after 4 years no problems I must expect some kind of trouble now and again . By the way Simplify 3D , I mean ! "What Else "
