I finally had a chance to look at V5 and apply it to our product
www.pitchouts.com
We exclusively used S3D V4.xx
Our pitchout is one of the most complex pieces of geometry with over 20 separate segments with different custom infill Angles both infill and external patterns.
After spending some considerable time on this, we can not fix or do a work around, to get our model to conform to our engineering specs using V5. (V4 pitchout design took almost 2 years of line by line engineering)
The ability to customize these angles would double the strength and halve the time to do it for printing. We actually use the exact same values as mentioned in a previous post. Odd but true. It allows for good mending of the shell around curved surfaces.
This was the most important “engineering” tool in all of S3D. Without it, we can’t update or expand our product line using V5, and get the strength needed, not to mention an additional 30 minutes added to print time.
We did a SxS with V4 and V5 to try everything under the sun, but we need a 90 an 65 overlap because a 90 and 0 won’t adhere to the sides.
I’m sure we aren’t the only company facing this dilemma.
Please fix this.
