Re: Monotonic Top/Bottom infill

I have been 3dprinting now for over 10 years, never seen this (monotopic) but maybe having this feature, could give the top surface a better finish

As a long time user of S3D (since version 3), please take my +1 for monotonic infill. :)

Thanks,

These are the types of features that pushed me to Cura. I can't justify spending money to upgrade without at least breaking even with Cura...

Re: Monotonic Top/Bottom infill

So my understanding so far is this..
Rectilinear
Can go left to right or right to left depending on the geometry of the layer.
So its like waving your hand on top of a carpet in random directions you get a different sheen depending on which way the fibers are lining up.
Monotonic
You move your and across the carpet but every stroke is the same direction as you move across the surface so all the fibers line up in one uniform sheen

Sounds good to me.

Re: Monotonic Top/Bottom infill

Exactly!

Resulting in a way more consistent top infill. without unexpected ridges!
