raft top layer orientation

My parts have a very small footprint, and warp considerably, and using a raft helps quite a bit. The top layer of the raft needs to be oriented parallel to the first layer of the part to get a clean release. This happens in V4. But in V5, the top layer is always perpendicular to the first layer. The raft settings appear to be the same, and I've tried all combinations, but the top layer is always oriented 90 deg to the part, and damages it on release. Any ideas? In the interim I can continue to slice these in V4....

Re: raft top layer orientation

post the factory file.
I don't use rafts much. I would try turning the whole model 90degs about the Z.
things changed on how the angles are orientated for each layer.

Re: raft top layer orientation

It would seem the raft top layer always goes the same direction no matter the setting of the model So orientate model to the raft then adjust the models infill internal and external . see below both the raft and model are going the same direction. As stated before rotations are done a bit different now. So things do not slice the same from one version to another. The default starting angle is not the same between V4 and V5. Guess a request for raft fill angle should now be requested.

Re: raft top layer orientation

Thanks - this works. But as you said, a raft fill angle feature would be nice.
