Ok, I upgraded today to 5.0.1, no changes to my usual slicer settings and this is what happens. I'm printing an USB cable holder, that should look like this:
The result after slicing looks like this:
Here's the .stl file (from thingiverse, option 6/small):

What is the printer? I had similar issues which I have resolved.

Try this one. It had a ton of errors in the file.
At first it failed but then started working. I tried several printers and it is ok.

Were you able to try the file I uploaded?

Just for reference, the original STL file doesn't appear to slice correctly in 4.1.2, 5.0.0, or 5.0.1 so I don't think this has anything to do with the 5.0.1 update. The original STL has a lot of mesh errors, but the repaired file wirlybird posted above seems to work!

I see, thanks for the update.
Interesting that other slicers don't show that behaviour, though.
@wirlybird, what was your approach to fix these issues?

I ran it through Netfabb.

Im having the same exact issues with nonmanifold files too!!
THe only workaround ive found so far is to convert to solid using meshmixer but that introduces "noise" on the edges, this is WAY UNWANTED and UNEXEPECTED!!
