Auto-configure categories. What are they?

Why am I only finding out this now? S3D really need to update their documentation and tutorials.

I know the feature had an entire section on the V5 announcement page (scroll to the bottom):

It's also mentioned in the Release Notes as well, but of course more documentation is always better!
