CR-10 Z+ & Z- both move downward

On top of that, while the Z axis is moving, I hit the limit switch and nothing happens.

What could cause this?

The limit switch should definitely stop the motion if your firmware is setup correctly. Have you by change installed new firmware on this printer or replaced the electronics board recently?
