I really like using simplify3d but because of the support (tree structure) I actually have to switch to cura for some models.

I purchased this - supposedly the most advanced slicer out there and the support functionality is like banging rocks. My Flashforge slicer even has good support functionality.
Is tree support in the roadmap?
