suddenly can't open due to max connections reached

I'm only using 5.0.1 (or any version) on 1 physical machine at one time since 5.x doesn't allow more than that. Things were were fine until today 2-22 when, with no change on my end, my already open instance of S3D closed with an error. I opened it and it says i've reached my max connections. Odd. So i cleared my license on the website (the application --deactivate flag doesn't work). Try it again, and it fails and says the same thing already. Look at the website and it looks like it activated the license but it's failing as if it's not the thing that activated it.

So i clear my config file entirely and run it. I login and it says it failed to activate my license. Yet when i look at the website, the activation seems to have gone thru. Subsequent runs of S3D leads to the max connection error window.

I'm not sure what is up but I can't run the software at all anymore. There's nothing odd about my machine, I've been running S3d for years on this linux box and I upgraded and have been running 5.x on it since 5.x first dropped.

I assume since there hasn't been a blow up of angry posts that this is not a widespread problem. But anyone else having this kind of issue?

Also, I noticed that the 5.x of Simplify3d has an executable stack flag. 4.x did not. Executing on the stack is generally bad.
5.0.1 (this is the same for 5.0.0)
readelf -lW ./Simplify3D |grep GNU_STACK
GNU_STACK 0x000000 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000 0x000000 0x000000 RWE 0x10

readelf -lW ../Simplify3D-4.1.2/Simplify3D |grep GNU_STACK
GNU_STACK 0x000000 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000 0x000000 0x000000 RW 0x10

4.1.2 runs fine on the same machine. 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 just flip out over license issues all of a sudden.

I doubt there's much we can do on the forum to help. Send our licensing support team an email at the link below. They should be able to lookup info about your account to help troubleshoot the issue.
