[FIXED] V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

I haven't really experienced crashes previously. I use 4 processes for these parts - bottom, bottom-2, diaphragm, top. Making some changes to the processes -layers, perimeters, infills, etc - and wasn't having a problem with one model (4inch...). But then removed that and tried a different model (6inch...) and started experiencing crashes. Went back to the first model and had a few more crashes, but overall seems like it's choking on the 2nd more often. Tried replicating this in v5.02 and no crashes.

Re: V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

Hi,
I downloaded your profiles and tried to open them.
I have tried to slice them, play with some parameter, but it is working on my Mac well (S3D v5.1).
Could you describe your workflow so I can test it for you on my Mac aswell to reproduce it?

(I am using Mac Mini M1, OSX Ventura 13.3.1)

BTW: Simplify3D team - manipulation with sliced view is terribly slow...

Re: V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

This one has been the WEIRDEST crash so far but I'm always doing the same: opening .factory, changing profile to the most recent one and PERHAPS editting some supports or moving pieces around the bed.

This time, it crashed when I clicked the move object icon!!

Re: V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

I tried slicing those files on my machine as well and they seemed to be working fine. Any other steps or changes you are making before slicing? Can you figure out which specific process is causing the crash?

Thanks for taking a look. I import a model, modify the Custom Zones for each of the 4 processes, based on the size of the model. For the "4i" model, the zones might be 0-48, 48-99, 99-102, and 102 up. Then prepare to print. The the "6i" model the zones might be 0-60, 60-149, 149-152, and 152 up. When this started I had successfully sliced the 4i model. Then removed it, imported the 6i model, modified Custom Zones, and crashes started when I sliced. Now crashes happening with both models.

Unfortunately I'm on an older Mac that won't upgrade to Ventura, so still on Monterey. Hopefully a new machine in a few months, but there seem to be issues with the newer hardware and/or OS, as well?

Re: V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

Can you attach a factory file that only has 1 process which reproduces the crash? Part of the reason why weren't not reproducing it might be because you have so many different processes in those files and that makes it harder for us to know what exact options you are picking.

Hi, it is working well on my Mac, sorry - I cannot help.

BTW: I noticed that your process and cad file names contain characters that some software doesn't like. Maybe that's not the problem, but it caught my eye right away.
Good luck

What about this one? It crashes my M1 Ventura 13.4 just because Raft is enabled.

Hi, I tried your factory file and got the same crash

Re: V5.1 crashes, MacOS 12.6.5

We just released Version 5.1.1 today which has several important bug fixes, including one that resolves the issues mentioned in this thread. I have confirmed that all of the factory files attached above now slice correctly with the latest V5.1.1.

You can see the other changes in this release at the link below:
