How to move profiles from one machine to another?

S3D 5.1.1
I have retired an older computer and put my S3D 4.2.1 and 5.1.1 programs on a new machine, then disabled them on the old box so they run on the new one.
But, how do I move all of the profiles and configurations set up on the old machine to the new one? I think that I found where they are, but when I tried to "import" printer profiles, I did not not any file with the file extension that the import command wanted.
In the
\\akihabara\C\Users\<mylogin>\AppData\Local\Simplify3D\S3D-Software-V5\Profiles
There are a bunch of XML files that have profile data in them - How do I import these?

Finally, where are these profiles stored for S3D 4.1.2? I can't find them anywhere.

be well,

Try checking HKCU\SOFTWARE\Simplify3D\S3D-Software\FFFWindow -> ProfileDatabaseContents
in the registry on your old PC, this is where 4.x does store the profiles. You can also copy/paste
them into a editor and split them in seperate XML files if you'd like to, if I remember correctly it
was a big bunch of all the profiles together.

For V5, as you saw the profiles are just stored as XML files on the file system, so you can copy those XML files to the new machine and then go to File > Import Printer Profiles, change the file type at the bottom to say "All files" and select the XML files.

Thanks for pointing out this step. It's the mistake i did when attempting to import the profiles.

Also, may you please share the folder location for Mac?

This answer on our FAQ page shows where to find the files on each operating system:

I moved S3D 4.2.1 and 5.1.1 to a new computer and need to transfer my profiles. I found XML files in the \AppData\Local\Simplify3D\S3D-Software-V5\Profiles folder, but they don’t seem to match the import file type. How can I import them? Also, where are profiles for S3D 4.1.2 stored? YouTube Vanced

The steps to load the different file type for V5 are posted just 2 comments earlier in this thread:

V4 didn't store printer profiles on the file system like V5, so we don't have equivalent steps for that. But it should be easy to run the V5 migration assistant which should already automatically import all old V4 profiles into the new V5 format.
