After updating to 2.2, try going to Help-->Reset All Settings.

i work on a fresh os install, there isn't old settings... and 2.1.0 use same settings of 2.2 (be cause share same settings), and work...
any way, i tried also to clean some hidden folder where it save data, but nothing, 2.1.0 work fine from computer, and from sd files, 2.2 cannot connect itself with printer, and gcode saved on SD cannot send to printer data about hotbed.

gcode files will not appear on makerbot style printers, you need the x3g file. make sure you are generating an x3g file, otherwise it will not appear on the SD Card. A good test is to save the toolpath somewhere on your hard drive, navigate to where you have it saved and see if the x3g file was properly made.

Also, what printer are you using? Maybe post a screenshot of the communication attempt made in 2.2.0 to your machine (you can see the communication attempt in the Communication Log of the Machine Control Panel).

gcode from 2.1.0 work fine, i know that i must do x3g file.
the problem is 2.2 ONLY, be cause on same computer, same hard disk, same install 2.2 not work, not build correct data for hotbed and more, i later installed 2.1.0 and that work fine...

i have a wonwall migce cuble with mightboard, 2x mk8 extruder, if that help you... but if 2.1.0 work fine and 2.2 with extacly same settings not find printer, not build x3g code to keep warm the hot bed, i think is 2.2 the problem...
same problem is under windows and under mac os, on both os, on same computer, 2.2 not work, 2.1 work fine...

anyway the error of 2.2 is communication error, below you can read...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attempting connection at /dev/cu.usbmodem1d141...
Testing plaintext communication protocol...
Testing binary communication protocol...
Testing alternate communication protocols...
Attempting RTS reset and trying again...
Connection failed.

but 2.1 connect immediately, on same usb port... also if i have opened both version at same time, ones work, other failed..

so far i think you are the only one to post this issue here on the forum. assuming your baud rate and port is set correctly in both then it should connect. send an email to s3d support and link this thread. maybe they can figure something out.

yes, i just sent to support, and is not necessary to check baud rates and more, be cause both version share settings and tempo files, if i setup on one, and close it, if i open other version, i see same settings on it.

and more strange, i connect old hard disk, where i have old os, old version work fine, newer version not work, like in new and fresh install.

i have a similar issue. S3D wont connect to my printer .
Pronterface works fine so im confident the com port / baud rate are fine.
Any ideas ??

If the machine control panel sees the correct COM port, but you are unable to connect to the machine, I have seen some cases where people solved this by going to Tools > Firmware Configuration, and under the Communication Tab, turning Hardware Flow Control on.

Thanks for the reply
Tried the flow control setting but get "error opening selected port" unfortunately
Im running a Prusa Air2 with gen6d control board (picture below)

One thing i have noticed in pronterface is when i press connect it takes +/- 15 seconds before the board sends back its info . Dont think this is helping matters.
Ive tried to set the timeout to 20secs in the Tools>firmware options > communications menu but that didnt help either

Ive also tried to cycle the power and hit the reset button ( read that somewhere else on the forum) and that doesnt help either.

Cheers
