"Begin Printing over USB" crash printer

Simplify3d 2.2.0 OS X connected to Davinci Dup 2.0J via USB, Davinci running stock firmware.

Several times over the past few days (I've only had my printer for 4 days) I've found that sending a file with multiple models will cause my printer to crash and restart. Before I dive in and attach .factory or .gcode files, wanted to know if this is a known issue - I haven't narrowed it down to complexity or size, but I find that removing models and/or removing duplicates will allow me to print. I tend to gang up my prints to make most efficient use of print time, but I find that this often cause the crash issue. However, I've also seen the issue with a single model printing multiple copies.

Is there a limit on either polygons or file size that can be sent to a Davinci Duo from Simplify3D? Note that in cases where I couldn't send from S3D I was usually successful in sending to printer using XYZWare 1.1.1 for OS X.

FWIW, I cannot duplicate this on my 1.0. I load up the build plate almost every print (bigger build plate than the 2.0) and don't get any crashing. I think it would be good if you can get a consistent combination of models to slice, then crash while being sent to the printer, to document that and then post it up here for everyone else with da vinci's to try.

Re: "Begin Printing over USB" crash printer

This was happening with models I had downloaded. I've found that running those models through the Netfabb repair tool solved the problem, although I'm also being much more cautious with the number and complexity of models I do at a single time - I'm now printing complex models by themselves instead of ganging them up.
