Default PLA settings?

For the first time since getting Simplify I've had to print with PLA. I selected the Auto-Configure for PLA and it defaults the extrusion multiplier to 0.90. I hadn't noticed until after printing, and, as with most prints from Simplify it came out rather well. So what's the reasoning behind reducing the extrusion multiplier for PLA?

Bump... No one know what causes the default for PLA extruder multiplier to be 0.9?
Thanks

really the multiplier and filament dia go hand in hand. there is no right multiplier. its just a fine tune of the diameter you have set. if i had my filament dia set to 1.75 and the dia of the filament actually dropped to 1.74 then i might move that multiplier up from .9 to 1.02, etc. with all that said though there is a difference from plastic to plastic in the die swell of the material when its extruded which is why from a "standard setting" there is probably different multipliers for different materials.

Seems reasonable, I sort of assumed it was something like that, but it wasn't obvious. It has been ages since I printed in PLA so I honestly couldn't remember what I would of used at the time. It predated me using Simplify anyway.
