Hello all! Prospective user questions.

Hi all,
Im thinking about S3D, it looks like a great solution. I have a couple of the Nophead Mendel90 machines. I really love 'em!
What I'm keen to know is this, the Mendel90 is not shown on the printers list but its based on the Prusa Mendel which is on the list.
Do I presume I could choose a Prusa Mendel and then edit the profile to match the finer detail of the M90?
Is it possible to manually create a profile for just about any machine or does one have to use a preset?
The M90 uses a Melzi with Marlin FW.
Any of you managed to sucessfully get any printer thats not on the list to work ok with S3D?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
D

Yup, the Mendel90 is also compatible. They are very similar machines like you said

Re: Hello all! Prospective user questions.

I am using a new printer from an Indiegogo campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rapi ... 3d-printer

It is also not listed in S3D, has also Merlin FW and it works perfectly fine with S3D.

In fact S3D performs much better than any free software, specially the serial communications stability.

Re: Hello all! Prospective user questions.

Haha,
By the time my post was moderated, I'd already bought the software (mixture of finding the info I needed online and sheer impatience and excitement!)
Loaded without problem, config was a breeze and my first print was simply fantastic.
Latterly had a small issue with the x height setting on my printer which has nothing to do with S3D, looks like it's resolved now and I'm back to making very cool parts.
So far I'm very impressed with S3D, it seems to work the way my head does.
Thank you for your replies folks....
