Importing to messed up scaling

I've seen earlier posts that probably are related to what is happening to me.
I've exported stl files of an object from FreeCad and from Blender, both programs reporting units in mm. Upon import, Simplify3D says "Can not auto arrange. Largest part exceeds build dimension." However, the Object Size Dimensions (Model Settings) reports the correct dimensions, which will fit on the print bed. I don't see how to work around this problem as accuracy is important.
Any ideas?

Im not sure why it would give you that warning if they both fit. Just drop them on the table anyway then arrange them manually.

Neither of the stl files fit when loaded. They both turned the window yellow. By dropping the scale down below 0.1, the object would fit on the build table. However, since the displayed dimensions never changed, I have no idea what scale would result in the correct printed dimensions.

... so it happend to me some weeks ago (ViaCad).
There was a second pinpoint object in a great distance I couldn't see it on the screen.
Look to the "Model Setting"-window / "Object Size Dimensions", if the values there are greater than estimated, there is something flying in the space.

The Model Settings>Object Dimensions are as they should be. However, the image doesn't match those dimensions When the import screen opens, the object fills most of the screen. Using "Scaling" changes the size of the displayed image, but the object dimensions display remains the same.

One more thing: I don't have two objects to import, just one. When the first import gave bad results, I used the other program to export an stl file, which also gave a bad result. Prior to this, I haven't had any problems importing stl files modified by FreeCad or Blender.
