30 Characters

Why can't I export my .stl to memory card with a 25 Character name ? thats 25 characters plus 4 for the extension, thats obviously only 29 all told. When I try I get an error telling me to use less than 30. What gives ?? is it some limitation of the GPX Plugin ?

Re: 30 Characters

the firmware will only read so many characters, and the converter is counting .gcode (input) as characters

Re: 30 Characters

If its counting .gcode is there a way to NOT output .gcode as I only need .x3g

I think .gcode is defaulted, and could be possible (not 100% sure) gpx expects an input file with the extension .gcode, you could always rename the final .x3g file to whatever you want afterwards. But is it really necessary to reach the limit of characters the firmware can read?

Re: 30 Characters

Yes because I have the same object with different slicing profiles and its advantageous to be descriptive of that in the file name. As is I have to have my files in directories in order to portray the information required.

Never mind it is what it is.
