Not Responding Locked up Problem?

I've had Simplify for 6 months now and it worked great until yesterday. Every time I tried to use the new dense support feature Simplify would crash back to the desktop as soon as I hit prepare to print. I'd restart and put dense back to 0 and it would work fine again. I read somewhere to Reset all settings in the help menu after installing and upgrade version so I tried that to fix the problem. After I did that I can no longer get Simplify to work at all. I select my printer again, load up my settings and when I hit prepare to print it just locks up and I get Not Responding. Sometimes it will get to the preview window then lock up. I've tried running older versions and even uninstalling every thing and reinstalling and the problem still is there.

Any ideas I'm desperate here?

Re: Simplify Not Responding Locked up Problem?

You probably have a corrupt file or settings somewhere. I would reinstall and also delete your preference files. What OS version are you using? The instructions to do that are OS-dependent

Re: Not Responding Locked up Problem?

Thanks for the reply I'm running it on an older laptop with Windows XP still.

I try deleting everything thing in regedit that had simplify3d in it but that didn't work. I also tired running ccleaner which I saw recommended for other similar issues but still no luck.

Not sure where the preference file is so yeah I could use a little help with that one.

Re: Not Responding Locked up Problem?

Did you delete the entire Simplify3D folder in the registry? Delete the whole thing to get rid of all the settings.

There are also some files stored in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Simplify3D. You may need to enable view hidden files and folders to get there.

Just make sure the software is closed and then delete all those files

Re: Not Responding Locked up Problem?

Yeah I did delete everything I could find including hidden files and after reinstalling S3D I still had the problem. Being new here my posts needed approving and it was taking too long so the I went drastic with the good old format/c trick and after re-inistalling everything that seemed to do the job (as it usually does) and I'm back up and printing. It was time to move up to Windows 7 on this old rig anyway. Thanks again for trying to help though I appreciate it.
