I would like the ability to design the infill of some parts to maximize strength, weight, flexibility, etc. In order to do this, I would need the ability to have the slicer use 100% infill. This is something that software that came with my printer doesn't seem to do.


Example: I have drawn a simple part, 1 inch x 1 inch x 1/16th inch and set the infill to 100%. After running the slicer I do not get a solid part.

Q: Does S3D actually do 100% infill or will I get the same results as the stock software that came with my printer?

Yes, it does 100% infill. In my experience though, using something like 80-90% infill is usually more than enough. It makes it nearly completely solid and still allows some spacing to help with cooling and things like that.

But you are free to try whatever you wish. It will do 100% if you ask it to.
