Retain Original Scale & Rotation Offsets?

I've noticed that after importing a model and then modifying its transforms under the "model settings" panel, the amount you have altered from the original transforms are retained even when you close and re-open that dialog. This is super useful because it allows you to check the changes you have made as well as match scale between different models. However when you save and reload a factory file this information seems to be lost and the new transform matrix is seen in the model settings panel as 0,0,0 pos/rot and 1.0 scale factor.

Is there any way to force this to be retained so you can always see how much you have moved, rotated and scaled your object vs the original imported model? Being able to always see the SCALE factor is really important for getting parts to match.

Thanks,
M

When saving a factory file, I believe s3d exports its own stl file version of yours making the new scale 1. I do not believe there is a way to retain the scaling value in factory files

That is unfortunate. There really should be a way to reference back to the original scale and rotation for obvious reasons. The fact it resets back to 1 makes it impossible to check scale against any additional parts that need to match size. I guess I should start keeping detailed notes for every factory file :)

I tend to agree with your original sentiment, that the functionality of retaining the scale parameters should be saved.
