Layer lost

I am using 2 versions, V5.1.2 and V4.1.2.
The reason is a V5.1.2 bug.
I am the result of slicing while rotating the modeling with the same modeling.
Make sure that the same layer is not visible.
However, the results are different depending on the direction.
Why?
No problem with version 4.1.2.
The settings are the same.

Re: Layer lost

What program did you use to create that STL file? From looking at it, I see lots of degenerate triangles with zero length edges. Most 3D modeling programs avoid creating problematic triangles like that. Perhaps the export tolerance was changed to some extremely fine value that was nearly zero?

You can see these degenerate triangles by going to View > Display Wireframe in S3D, or by using the Mesh Statistics option.

You might want to try exporting the 3D model with a coarser tolerance to avoid all these degenerate triangles to see if that improves slicing.

Re: Layer lost

If there is a problem with modeling, why does the problem change depending on the angle at which the modeling is rotated?
Why is there no problem in V4.1.2?

Re: Layer lost

If the mesh has problems, it could easily slice wrong in either program. For example, I've seen bad meshes that slice wrong in V4, but correct in V5, or vice versa. Knowing this mesh has some very bad quality triangles, that's why I was suggesting re-exporting it from the CAD program.
