Hi all,
So, this is a question about first layer speed. You can set the first layer info as Absolute values or Percentage values. Lately I have been using Absolute values. I set the first layer speed to 20mm/s which should be quite slow. But it looks like it is running much faster than that value. I switched to Percentage to see values and it shows 50% speed. Now that does seem like the speed that my printer is printing the first layer. I have overall speed set to 130mm/s. So the first layer speed would be 65mm/s at 50% speed. Which is way to fast to stick to my bed. I just tried setting Percentage to 8% speed and that does look like the printer is printing at that speed. Very slow printing. So I wonder if there is a Bug in the conversion between the Absolute values and the Percentage values. Or Simplify3D is ignoring the Absolute values and using only the Percentage values. I am not sure if this happens all the time. Just sometimes. Otherwise, I am very confused as to why sometime my printer prints the first layer so much faster that it should print. Even though the values in S3d are correct.

Are you sure you're entering the absolute speeds in the correct units? People will sometimes enter mm/sec instead of mm/min or vice versa.

If you keep having trouble maybe post your factory file with the exact speeds that you expect to see.

You probably have a negative global Z offset, which means the nozzle is a little lower than the surface. This can cause the first layer to be squashed and appear to be moving faster than it actually is. To fix this, you can go to the G-Code tab and make sure that the Global Z-Axis Offset is set to 0.0 mm.
