I'm disappointed

Used S3D since v3.x then v4.x and now v5.x.
In the old days there was nothing that could do what S3D could do, but times have changed!
S3D is so far behind the free ones (Prusa, Orca, Cura, etc.)
I have asked for technical documentation in the past and now, and still nothing beyond this forum?
I have asked for documentation on macros, and each time I get a short answer in the forum with a solution, but still no documentation?
I have reported several bugs in v4 which have been fixed, and in v5 which are still not fixed?
I have recommended quite a few improvements and nothing has changed?
I follow the forum, mostly to see if anything changes, but everything is the same, which is bad.
I have so many stl files that I myself have drawn in F360 and sliced in S3D. They are all re-sliced in Prusa, with a super result.
I don't think S3D can keep up with the free ones anymore, and those who still pay should consider spending the money on a better printer or something else.
If I were to start over today, I would never choose S3D, because there are so many other free options, with great support and documentation.
Just gotta say I'm disappointed.

I know our developers were actually very active this past year fixing many bugs in V5. You can read a very long list of changes all made in the last year here (https://www.simplify3d.com/products/sim ... ase-notes/). Just from looking at other posts on the forum for bugs that WERE already fixed after the V5 launch, I counted well over 100 bug fixes. So there has definitely been lots of good progress.

Looking at your posts in the last year I only saw 2 that looked like bugs:
  • Flow rate color scaling
  • Software taking long time to start (sounded like this was resolved based on your post)
Are there any others that are still affecting your workflow in the latest V5.1.2?

There have been many user requested improvements implemented since the 5.0 launch, and we typically picked which improvements to implement based on the ones that were the most popular requests. Our developers only have so much time during the year, so this allows them to make sure they are focusing on the most important changes first. So keep voting for the features you want to see, as that directly influences what they select for each future release.
