Simplify3D User Forum

Hi, printer makerbot method x- using the Machine Control Panel in simplify3d i can adjust the temperature of the Active Toolhead i want to dial in, i see the temperature go to the setpoint in the Temperature Pot in the machine control panel i can also see the extruder reach the set temperature on the printer so all is good. What does not seem to work is the Extrude 100 button again in the machine control panel under movement control. If i click on say -Z 1 then i see the build plate move so there is communication.
Any ideas what could be wrong here?
Ive seen this sequence done on the youtube mastering the method so it should work

Many printer firmwares won't allow extrusion unless the extruder is fully heated to temperature. You will also find that on some machines it takes several extrude commands before you see any filament come out, since you have the prime the nozzle first.

ok i will give that a go, try setting the temp hi and then extrude several times
