Support style change or bug

Why do the support structures protrude through my part?
How do I change they support style from rectangular or square to follow the contour of the part?

If your part has very thin walls, then you likely want to use a lower support pillar resolutions to make sure the supports can correctly adjust to the shape. Try lowering the support pillar resolution to 1 or 2mm instead of 4-10mm and see if that solves the problem.

This finer resolution allows the supports to conform better to thin walls and intricate details without protruding excessively.
