Simplify3D User Forum

Does anyone have a set of test patterns that I can print to tweak my ooze control settings? (ie. if it prints like this, increase retraction distance, if it prints like that increase coasting, etc.)

What's the best way to optimize those settings for my specific printer? (SeeMeCNC Orion)

Here's a few common models that I used when trying to adjust my retraction settings

They are really quick to print. Basically, if you see lots of strings going between the different pillars, you should increase your retraction distance until you don't see any more strings. Once you get that right, you could start messing with coasting, but you really only need that if you are seeing big blobs where the extruder stops and starts. For a lot of my printers, I only need retraction and coasting is disabled
