File is not slicing correctly.

Hi all,

i dont know how to describe the issue best. attached is a stl file and 2 screenshots of the same angle. As you can see, part of the original structure is missing. The issue only happens, when I rotate the object 45° around the z axis to fit the item on my 300x300 printer. I dont know too much about stl files etc, so any advise would be welcome! Thanks

That's the .fff file. You can export a factory file by going to File > Save Factory File As.

Re: File is not slicing correctly.

I've had an issue similar to this but not as extreme. The solution I used to fix that appears to work for this issue:

Go to the Advanced tab of the Process Settings and change the Slicing Region Repair Mode to "Alternating Fill". I've attached the modified factory file.

Re: File is not slicing correctly.

thanks for the hint.

it also slices correctly, when you rotate it 225° instead of 45° so I am wondering what could be the issue.

Maybe one of the devs could point out whether its something with the stl file that needs to be done, in order to prevent this issue from happening

Re: File is not slicing correctly.

If you look at the area between the 2 holes in the top left of the part, there's a spot where the body reduces down to zero thickness. Try giving the part real valid thickness and it might help with some of the issues. As other mentioned, there's also quite a few built-in repair options explained here:
