Hairy prints.

I am having printing problems. The inside of the model shown is getting a bit hairy. The green print was printed several years ago and is perfect. The white print is a recent print. I don’t think the printing process has been modified but I may be wrong there. I wouldn’t have thought the print head would venture far away from the printed model to produce the effect shown.

Re: Hairy prints.

It's called "stringing", and it can be affected by lots of things. Here's the trouble-shooting guide on the subject:

I've had stringing problems with older filament, especially if it has absorbed moisture. Try drying the filament & see if that helps. Even different colors of the same material can act slightly different.

Re: Hairy prints.

Thanks for the advice. The model on the right is now hairy free! I changed the retraction distance from 1mm to 2mm and checked the 'Avoid crossing outline for travel moments' box. All good now.
