How should I set the slicer to make it lay the seam on the outside - see the yellow rings

You can control the first start point for the layer using the options on the Layer tab. After that, the software usually tries to optimize the print time by selecting the closest location on each feature.

You could try enabling some of the new V5 seam hiding options which might do a better job hiding the seam in corners, or potentially even break the part up into separate surface so you can independently control the start point for each piece.
