Start point selection does not appear to work

Hi,

I am a relatively novice user of my 3D printer and simplify 3D.

I am printing with two similar Processes where the first Process stops at 1mm and the second continues to the top. The only difference between the two is the layer height.

I am trying to dial in the appearance of my prints by aligning the start points. I selected the "Align start points to a specific XY location" and entered 50mm for X and 0 for Y for both of the two Processes. When I watch the "By Line" preview of the print the first layer looks like its following the X,Y start point instruction, but then on subsequent layers it doesn't start in the same place?

I am running version 5.1.2 on a MacBook.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Re: Start point selection does not appear to work

Did you use the align start points option for BOTH processes? If you only use it for the first process, then it will stop working once you enter the second process.

If you're still having trouble, it might help to attach a factory file of the print so that we can provide better suggestions.

I too can't get it work either. Even with only one process. I've tried to use an exact point that was on the 1st loop of a skirt and have exaggerated the X,Y location still nothing. checked and un checked use preferred regions, nothing. Version 5 with a MB rep 2x setup.

Re: Start point selection does not appear to work

It is working as expected in every test I have run here using V5.1.2. If you're having different issues, it might help to create a separate thread and attach a factory file showing the issue you are having with your single process print.
