Retraction problem

Hi, i noticed when i use Simplify3D to slice the model, the Retraction has a problem. When the nozzle finish one layer, it will retract some PLA back, my setting is

Retraction distance: 4.5mm
Retraction vertical lift : 0.1
Retraction speed: 3000mm/MIN
Wipe distance: 5mm

So, when it starts next layer, it will extrude some PLA back to nozzle, i found the re-extrude rate may not enough because the PLA that extruded from the nozzle is very thin, but after few movements, like 10mm or something, the PLA line is back to normal. And i don't have this kind of problem when i use Kisslicer to slice the model.

Is there anyone can help me to fix this problem, thank you very much !!

My another question is why the nozzle lift higher from platform while printing raft, when i choose not to print raft, it lift much lower, i give a 0.12mm offset at Z-axis on G-code setting, is it because of that?

Thanks all
Haley

Re: Retraction problem

Click "edit process settings", Advanced tab, and disable the "force retraction between layers" option.

And I believe the raft always prints a very thick first layer. So it may be thicker than the typical first layer of your part. That is normal.

Many thanks Joe, i fixed the problem by given 0.3mm on "extra restart distance" last night.
