Simplify3D on Mac

Hello,

I have a problem to connect to my printer, Velleman K8400 (Vertex).
Parameters :
Baud rate : 250000
Wait for status command : start
Serial acknowledge : ok
Comment Character : ;
Allow command buffering checked
Serial cache size : 63
No Flow Control
Communication timeout : 10 s

Seems Machine control panel can not initiate a communication to the printer.

Works fine under Windows (same parameters)

My config :
Mac Book Pro
Yosemite 10.10.2
Simplify3D : 2.2.2

Printer : Velleman K8400
RepRap firmware (updated by Velleman)

It might help if you post the traffic from the communication log. Do you get any response back from the printer? Are you sure there are no other programs connected to the printer on your Mac?

this one hasnt been brought up in a long time so im not sure where s3d stands in the current version but it used to be 250000 baud rate doesnt work on mac. try setting it to 115200

I've installed the FDTI driver and now it works.

jimc - I use 250000 baud rate on my Mac and it works fine. It has for at least the last 8 months or so. They added 250k support for Macs all the way back in version 2.1

FWIW, I've been running s3d on my Late 2013 MacBook Pro without issue. I have experienced some issue where one of my printers was not populating the serial devices list s3d, but seemed to be working fine in windows. A friend of mine has a MacBook pro mid 2014 and was experiencing the same issues, but it wasn't just s3d, our beagle bone black's weren't showing up properly to communicate over usb. Looked through the BBB google groups and it's actually pretty common for the newer macbook pro's to have an ftdi detection/communication issue. Amazingly enough, I'm in the yosemite beta (yosemite is released, but they have incremental beta's) and as of 10.10.4, the ftdi driver issue seems to have been fixed. The printer that I have not been able to connect to I can now connect to!

i cannot not connect
OSx 10.10.4
S3D 3.0.2

i can connect with the "pronterface" but there i can choose another serial port the "tty" in s3d i can only choose the "cu" ... when i choose "cu" under pronterface this will also not connect, so it seems more an issue of the s3d software
