Hi,
I have equipped a CTC printer (should be identical to a flashforge creator dual) with t 0,2 mm nozzles.
I noticed that the nozzle width setting does not have any affect in s3d I always have to change extrusion width if I want to print something really thin.
And the auto setting here appears to be fixed a.k.a. if i select auto for my 0.2 nozzle it sets to 0.24 and thats that this is not cool.
As this way I eider have to print all with the 0.2 mm width a.k.a. its slow and i need a layer hight of not more than 0.2mm making it even slower. Or I have to use a thick extrusion width and have no benefit from my small nozzle.
The main problem I head with S3d in the past was that if i printed something 1mm in width I got 2 shells with nothing in between, with the default 0,4 mm nozzle. That is not cool, with the 0.2 mm nozzle printing with 0.2 mm extrusion width it is of cause much better and I get the problem only for 0,5 mm thick things (I usually don't need)... but as said than its sloooow.
So my question is why not make s2d smart and use variable extrusion width during the print. So that if I print a 0,5 mm thick thing i will not get 2 shells of 0,2 mm thickness but 2 touching side by side 0,25 mm wide lines. (respectively all that x2 for a stock 0,4 nozzle) and make the printer use a 0,4 or even 1 mm extrusion width where there is bulk or thicker stuff.
Such that one can benefit from a dine nozzle while not slowing down everything.
