What happened to randomizing infill in 3.0?

I think it wasn't widely used, so it got removed from the software.

It's too bad. I used it. It was a good way, when working with translucent materials, to make the infill pattern not so visible from the outside.

it not really a big deal and you can mimic the effect by just setting half dozen or so infill angles and make sure the print infill on every layer is unchecked..

That seems like a silly attitude to have. I used it all the time for similar reasons to Ashley.

Also, the ability to alter the angle of external rectilinear infill was removed...

what i am saying is you can get basically the same thing by just setting up a bunch of infill angles.

I have been using that all the time. wouldn't it be easy to add it back in or has the code for generating the infill totally redone?
seams strange to remove a feature.

Re: What happened to randomizing infill in 3.0?

I am just assuming here but i would bet that it was removed because until this thread i have never heard of anyone who used it so s3d prob figured the same and for new users it caused weak infill issues until they figured out to turn that function off. I just see that option as a big load of support calls so better off removed.

Yeah, I also used it often for translucent materials to camouflage the infill appearance. Good to know there is a way to recreate it manually, but a drop down option would be great to have again for ease of use.
