How do we get the preview like in the image below? It would be nice to have a quick reference like that for dropping parts on the bed and how they are going to print.

I'm confused. That's not the print preview window, that's a screenshot of where you would setup your models. The Model Settings Window on the right is different because that screenshot is from Simplify3D 3.0 not 2.2.2, is that what you are referring to?

Go to tools --> options, machine tab, and then add a printer model at the bottom.

I'm talking about the ghost image of the printer.

I tried going there and there is a printer already listed. I click add and it opens the browser window to my desktop. Is there a check box somewhere to turn the ghost image of the printer on and off?

goto help/configuration assistant. pick your printer and it should show up.

That worked. It asked for the printer when I installed S3D, but it didn't come up.

I tried loading other printers that I have and some are missing or not working. Do I have to generate the STL files for them or is there a library online somewhere I can pull them from?

Only a few of the profiles have a printer model. Not every single printer will have one.
